There are many possible reasons why Gordon Korman wrote the book
Schooled. I believe Gordon Korman wrote this book to show people that you should always to be yourself and stick to what you believe in. People might not accept you at first but sooner or later they will learn how to and that's how you find real friends. In the book, Capricorn or Cap had lived in a place called Garland farm, a hippie community, all his life. Until his grandma broke her hip and had to stay in the hospital. So Cap had to go public school under the care of child services. At his new school Cap does not fit in because of the way he dresses and acts, but is able to make one friend. Eventually they do learn to accept him and begin to really admire Cap. The book really shows that being yourself is the best way to go and that is why I belive Gordon Korman wrote this book.
